Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager to oversee warehouse operations, storm shelter installations, and general operations. This role includes managing inventory, supervising installation crews, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring all projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality. Candidates with a background in warehouse management, construction, or installation operations will excel in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Management:
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including receiving, unloading, organizing, and inspecting storm shelters and tools.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock of installation materials and equipment.
- Conduct routine quality checks to ensure all shelters meet safety and quality standards.
- Enforce warehouse safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Manage equipment orders and oversee maintenance schedules.
Installation Oversight:
- Coordinate installations across multiple locations, ensuring timely and efficient project completion.
- Train and supervise installation crews, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to company protocols.
- Address site-specific challenges like excavation, slab inspections, and adjustments for custom installations.
- Perform site inspections and quality control checks.
- Communicate with clients when necessary and maintain strong customer relations.
Operations, site visits & maintenance:
- Inspect and maintain equipment weekly
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during installations.
- Manage payment processing and documentation for completed projects.
- Visit clients to take pictures and dimensions of the job site
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year in warehouse management, construction, or installation operations.
- Proficient in operating forklifts, telehandlers, trailers, and other equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Well organized person, pro active and results driven.
- Strong leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items, work outdoors, and adapt to varying weather conditions.
- Punctual, reliable, and open to learning and adapting to new challenges.
- Capable of working under pressure and high levels of stress (about 20-30% of the time). For example: dealing with employees can be difficult, trucks do not show on time, providers sent the wrong product, checks bounce or do not arrive, clients call and complain about their product, the rest is very easy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with safety and compliance standards for warehouse and construction work.
- OSHA-30 certification (or willingness to complete training).
